The Council's Allocations and Accommodation service area is responsible for all aspects of temporary accommodation acquisitions and management. During the Covid public health crisis, the Council has been required to accommodate a large number of single individuals into a number of accommodation settings.The role will specifically oversee and support the management of temporary accommodation acquired by the Council to assist rough sleepers, in particular a 45 bed hostel in Southall and other scattered placements.

The role will work in partnership with residents, accommodation providers and specialist support agencies to ensure that the accommodation provided is safe for all to reside in. You will also assist with undertaking regular property inspections, risk assessments and addressing any complaints and enquiries. You will be primarily be based at the main accommodation project in Southall on a Monday to Friday basis.

To rise to the challenge of helping applicants and the Council achieving their housing outcomes, you will need:
* Experience of working in a housing service or equivalent.
* Experience of using IT, information systems and databases.
* Experience of property management and standards.
* Understanding of Council duties to homeless applicants, specifically regarding the provision of temporary accommodation.
* Proven ability to work on own initiative, whilst maintaining effective working relationships with key partners

We are looking for a flexible, creative individual who places a high value on excellent customer service and is committed to working with partner agencies to ensure safe accommodation for vulnerable residents.

The post is funded until March 2021
