Occupational Therapist

This is a fantastic opportunity to work as an Occupational Therapist at Wigan Council. You will be joining a well-structured and dynamic team in the Early Intervention Service, to promote wellbeing and independence by completing complex occupational assessments, proportionate support plans and by using specialist equipment, adaptations. skills gain and risk management programmes. Our client offers a full-time contract with a fair and manageable caseload and further training in your portfolio.

Main Duties include;

• Working in locality team with Social Workers and Occupational Therapists


• Take professional responsibility as directed for managing a caseload which will include individuals, children, families and carers who require support and guidance


• Enable them to identify their needs and plan support to meet those needs using the full range of options, seeking advice and support where appropriate.


• Carrying out assessments


• Reablement, equipment and adaptations


• Carrying out moving and handling assessments


• provide holistic assessment to clients with a disability

To Be Successful;

Our client has requested that the successful candidate has previous experience as an Occupational Therapist within the Social Care setting. The successful candidate will have experience of intermediate care to work alongside an in-house Reablement team and local domiciliary care agencies, as well as Manual Handling, Major Adaptations, Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you). The candidate must be HCPC Registered with a full OT Qualification.
