We are looking to recruit a Team Manager in the Adoption Team within Southend. The successful candidate will be working in a well-structured, organised team who are growing their social worker staffing levels.

The responsibilities of the Team Manager includes:

  • To manage a team of professional staff engaged in diverse and complex work with children and families to ensure the delivery of effective and responsive adoption service for partner members of the regional adoption agency.

  • To support the work of the regional adoption agency and the continuing developments as required by its partner local authorities.

  • To contribute to the effective leadership, management and development of Adopt East achieving consistency and high standards which provide excellent outcomes for children and their families.

  • To ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and government guidance in relation to vulnerable children, young people and their families across the service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide leadership and management of the adoption team to ensure the best outcomes for children

  • To prepare for and manage inspections and achieve good outcomes.

  • Assist in implementing and reviewing Southend on Sea City's procedures for monitoring and tracking permanence planning for looked after children to avoid drift.

  • Ensure that the Adoption Service complies with all National Minimum Standards, Regulations and Statutory Guidance.

  • Ensure compliance with child protection processes and procedures.

  • Develop sound mechanisms to record information and data required to inform performance monitoring, internally and externally.

  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including equality and anti- discrimination legislation and ensure arrangements are in place for the effective management of complaints.

  • Develop and motivate staff and provide supervision and performance management to achieve high quality service delivery.

  • To ensure services and support to staff is delivered using our restorative practice model.

To ideal candidate will have:

  • Social Work England registration

  • Eligibility to work in the UK

  • Social Work qualified (MA/BSc/DipSW/CQSW/MSc/BA)
