Team Manager - Fostering Recruitment & Assessment Team

We are looking to recruit a Team Manager in the Fostering Recruitment & Assessment Team within Lewisham Council. The successful candidate will be working in a well-structured, organised team who are growing their social worker staffing levels.

The responsibilities of the Team Manager includes:

As the Team Manager will be responsible for the operational setup and delivery of the team's core objectives. You be managing a team consisting of:

• Enquiries Officer


• Marketing Officer


• Social Workers undertaking fostering assessments-(both in-house and independent SW's)

• The ideal candidate will work with other senior managers to refine and develop the recruitment processes for foster parents within the organization. Additionally, you will be heavily involved in the establishment of the supported lodgings scheme and in the line-management of the coordinator.


• Must be a capable leader with sound knowledge of Fostering Regulations and Standards as well as substantial management experience in fostering and safeguarding.


• Furthermore, the successful candidate will have demonstrable experience and successful track record in developing and managing successful fostering recruitment campaigns that uses all the communication disciplines from marketing, to media relations and events in order to recruit new fosterers.


• You must have proven competence in supporting and supervising social workers to complete quality and timely fostering assessments.

To ideal candidate will have:

• Social Work England registration


• Eligibility to work in the UK


• Social Work qualified (MA/BSc/DPSW/CQSW/MSc/BA)
