Occupational Therapists help both children and adults of all different ages with mental, physical or social disabilities to independently carry out everyday tasks or occupations. These people's difficulties may have been present since birth, or the result of an accident, illness, ageing or lifestyle. Occupational Therapists create individual treatment programmes to help people carry out their daily tasks with more confidence and independence. They will then review the treatments periodically, evaluate progress and make changes to the treatment as needed. To be an Occupational Therapist you will be required to have a degree within Occupational Therapy and you will be registered with the Health & Social Care Professions Council (HCPC).
