Ackerman Pierce’s Commitment to Safeguarding

Safeguarding is at the heart of our activities; All Education Delivery Co-Ordinator’s are NSPCC safer recruitment trained and DBS checked. Across our business we have 1 DSL and 3 DSO’s for swift action if any issues arise. All safeguarding policies are freely available on our website.

Safeguarding is structured in three main categories within Ackerman Pierce.

Safer Recruitment

Our dedicated compliance team verify and check all our staff, the team are highly trained and experienced and focused on ensuring all compliance checks are obtained in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education legislation, as well as pushing above and beyond industry standards for prescreening of candidates. This process includes but is not limited to;

  • Full detailed referencing of staff
  • Pre-Screen interview (Competency based questions)
  • RTW checks
  • Enhanced DBS check
  • Safeguarding level 2 training (as standard)
  • Prevent training (as standard)
  • Full Application process including ROA and Medical Screening
  • Full employment check (In line with KCSIE)
  • TRN Checked
  • Verification of Qualifications and Training.

Internal Safeguarding Training​

Safeguarding Training is a continual process with continually evolving legislation, technology and risks we are always looking to adapt. We keep across all government and key stakeholder updates with regards to changes and endeavor to ensure that anything new is implemented across our compliance team and all relevant staff. Alongside training and developing new requirements we are continually refreshing knowledge around safeguarding policies, procedures for existing staff to keep them educated and proactive on the subject.

Ongoing safeguarding whilst Tutors are in placement with a CYP

All tutors are put through a safeguarding course with assessment prior to working with Ackerman Pierce. This is combined by reviewing safeguarding knowledge and liaising with all parties to ensure they are maintaining the high standard of Ackerman Pierce, to keep children safe in education.

All tutors are performance managed with a structured format, ensuring that we are reviewing any possible safeguarding issues, as well as collaborative multi agency reviews.
